Pizzeria Balognett is a small, family run restaurant located up the hill behind Tremezzo. It is run by a husband (cook) and wife (waitress) team and located in the garden behind their house. The ingredients are all incredibly fresh, many come directly from their garden and make for an astounding pizza. The drive up is a bit tricky with narrow roads, and our GPS took us down a road that ended in steps, but it is worth the journey. The patio is beautiful, hidden from the intense sun by vines and flowers. The house wine was delicious and really highlighted the garden fresh taste of the pizza.

Service was good, very friendly and prompt. Everything as also very reasonable for such high quality food.

Be warned that it can be difficult to get a table at lunch, and is nearly impossible without a reservation for dinner.

My wife and I consider ourselves to be major foodies and we travel primarily to eat. We have visited Italy many times and happened on this place when in Como. We still dream about the pizza we had here and it is unmatched by anything we have ever eaten. Unfortunately we will now forever compare any pizza to the pizza we had here and I am afraid to say nothing will ever come close. Como is worth a visit maybe more for this pizza than the gorgeous scenery. The pizza ingredients are fresh beyond compare, the homemade chili olive oil and chili seasoning are also the best we have ever tasted. The couple that runs this place were very polite and friendly to us. The view was lovely on a warm day. The highlight of our trip to Como for sure.

Absolutely incredible, by far the best pizzas in Italy which so often can be compared with the likes of Dominos and Pizza Hut. This place has the best of Italian flavours and wines, we arrived at 1pm (4 adults, 2yr old in high chair and 3 month old in arms), we left at 5pm. If you don't want to experience local traditional cuisine with a very personal touch then this isn't the place for you, if on the other hand you do, you would be crazy to miss it!

Beautiful authentic pizza restaurant in what appears to be someone's back garden. Tricky to find up a steep hill but well worth it. Thin crisp base pizza with homegrown tomatoes and peppers and lots of garlic. Tip: order a jug of house white. We had a lovely meal in the garden during very bad weather - can't think of a more relaxing way to sit out a storm. Great place - thoroughly recommended.

Come for the ambiance, friendly hosts, fresh food, and because you care about a slow, high quality, hand-prepared, enjoyable meal.

Imagine relaxing in the garden, with a succulent pizza and a crisp glass of wine. Carmelo and Franca prepare your food with care and warm hearts. Listen to the soft music in the cool evening air as you enjoy the peace of Tremezzo, up the hills a little bit, with the mountains around you, aromas that draw you in, and your family or a special someone.

Imagine allowing yourself to relax, with natural flavors, easy conversation, no pretense, and the best food on Lake Como.

Amazing. Worth every eu spent. Beautiful garden and free parking complete the amazing experience after eating around 2 pizzas a day for 10 days I can say this is the best pizza I've eaten in my course of Italy. The waitress is very authentic lol

We arrived following Trip advisor, under the understanding that these were the best pizzas in lake como, we were in for a surprise. Upon getting there one of the members of our party got of the car to check the menu and the owner rudely reprimanded her for doing so. Thinking it was just a grumpy man, we decided it was worth eating there. After parking the car we got off the car and the same member told the man (This is a small restaurant in a house ran by a man and a woman) that we had found the place using trip advisor, to which he rudely responded that he didn't like trip advisor because t didn't bring good people. It was at this time that we realized the man was drunk. His foot was covered in blood and as he leaned over to pick up some vegetables he fell over. we decided it was ok to eat there, but then the man continued to be aggressive to the point that he went back inside after several rude and sarcastic remarks. And after a few minutes I heard something break, at which time a very embarrassed woman came out and simply said "We have a problem it's better if you leave." While we did not get to taste the food, which is a shame, it scared some of the member's of our group and really destroyed their so "peaceful" Ambiance they want their diners to have. Avoid at all costs, the owner is extremely rude, disrespectful, and he conveyed a dangerous attitude.

Great pizza, very friendly host. Don't visit for dinner with kids, they are only allowed for lunch I think. You can only pay with cash, but we didn't have any so the host let us eat and come pay the day after. Very nice of her.
